Hi my name is Jackie Trotter and I teach  students studying Veterinary nursing  and also students studying Companion Animals at the Canberra Institute of Technology. I don't teach about horses but do teach students about dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice and fish and reptiles. We have about 150 students in our courses. This is the building that I teach in.
The courses take from 1 year to 2 years to complete and can then work as a vet nurse in a Veterinary clinic or in other animal facilities.

  2. Hi Lena, it depends on which course they are doing. Students studying Veterinary Nursing and Companion animals must be at least 16 years of age and must have completed year 10. (I am not sure what that is equivalent to in your country). To study the Diploma in Animal Technology they must be 18 years old and have completed Year 12. This is the level required to enter university.

Interesting, for how long have you worked as a teacher? What kind of education do you need for this work?
