Here you can see how we prepare for a lesson in how to put on a horseshoe! As you can see we use legs from dead horses for training!!

    Hi Gudni

    This looks like a good approach. Do the students ever have concerns about using the legs from dead horses?

    How long would a student practice on these before putting a horeshoe on a real horse?

      Hi Susanne!
      The students get so interested in the task that they don´t think about it so much. Also they are much braver to put the nails in the dead hoves in the beginnig. When they have practiced 6 lessons and taken an extra course at another schools specialiced in farrier education. Then they are ready!

    Do you have this course? What does it calls? Hoof care? How many lessons do they have in hoof care? Do the students get any certification after they have showed that they can put on a horseshoe?

    Hi Kristina!
    I have a part of this course. We can call it the basic part.The basich part is about 6 practical lessons. The students then go to a neighbouring school that has a farrier education where they spend 2 days. And after that they get a diplom that says they can put on shoe that has fallen off!!
